Hebridian Highlights

  • Stornaway is the capital of Lewis and Harris. To get this photograph I had a bit of a climb, but it was well worth it.
  • Erected 5000 years ago, the Calanais Standing Stones pre-date Stonehenge. These dramatic stones are located on the west coast of Lewis.
  • Blackhouse Village is a crofting township on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. There is a fine museum there giving an insight into how the people lived.
  • The Saltings (Northton, Isle of Harris) is an area of land regularly covered by the tide. The sheep in this photograph give an idea of scale.  I have never seen anything quite like this!
