Inspirational Italy

  • Castelvecchio Bridge in Verona was originally built in 1354-57. It was over this striking bridge that we entered Verona.
  • Sirmione Castle is a 13th century castle in Lombardy, on the shores of Lake Garda. There is nothing to see inside, but the towers and walls are worth climbing for the views.
  • I had the most wonderful ice cream near this arched building in Desenzano del Garda! (Woops!  I believe Italians don’t like us calling it “ice cream”!).
  • In England we put flags out. In Italy it’s umbrellas!  Why not!  This photograph was taken from a train which toured the town of Desenzano.  I had to lean out of the window to take it!
