Lyme Park, near Stockport in Cheshire, borders the Peak District, and simply dazzles from any angle. It was famously used in the BBC production, Pride & Prejudice.
The imposing Arley Hall is also in Cheshire, situated just outside Lymm. It was built c1840 in a Jacobean style. The gardens are very special.
Saltram, just outside Plymouth in Devon, has wonderful examples of Chinese wallpaper.
I just love the typical black & white Tudor mansion, Little Moreton Hall, which is situated just outside Congleton in my home county of Cheshire. I took this from what is known as the photographers’ mound so that the moat is included.
